Angus & Julia Stone Uniondale Concert reviews
3rd time over the past 20 years
Around nine years ago, I saw it at the Masonic, MI, and I saw the play when they still had the Pantages Theater in Toronto. Those are memories that I will hold dear. My children loved it, though. The Angus & Julia Stone actor had great vocal power, but I couldn't make out a single lyric of Raul's in the cemetery scene now has the trio singing. The front half even gave standing ovations to my fellow audience members, who enjoyed it immensely. There are quite a few changes, but they didn't fit well for me in comparison. I am not certain how much of the chandelier was due to the venue, but there was no crashing. Merely a shower of sparks and a halfway lurch with sparks later on. Even my son complained that they didn't have 'Down Once More,' but I had to explain that they did. The words just weren't very articulated where he was in the songs. If you have never seen the play, then you might still find the magic in it. The ones I talked to had never seen previous performances, however. So, be warned if you have seen the older versions.
